In hop hop culture [[Graffiti]] spraying, [[breakdance|breakdancing]], [[DJing]], and [[rap|rapping]] are generally considered "the four elements", whereas [[beatbox|beatboxing]] is often referred to as the fifth element of hip hop.

The song's title is a direct reference this as "L.E." is used as abbreviation for "element". The lyrics are told from the perspective of the "The Fifht L.E.", which in this case is the personified human beatbox speaking here:
